Bloggers are taking over the food world, breathing life and vibrance into our global culinary culture. Is it surprising that we’ve started banding together to make the world a better place? Just look at the Pim’s Menu for Hope program as an example of what food bloggers can accomplish when we pool our resources.
Several food blogging colleagues are planning another fabulous event called the National Food Bloggers’ Bake Sale, which is sponsored by a larger event called the Great American Bake Sale. The goal of these events is to help end childhood hunger, a problem that persistently plagues our global society.
Gaby over at What’s Gaby Cooking is organizing the national food bloggers’ event, while our own lovely Anita Chu is organizing the San Francisco event.
Whew! That’s a lot of links in a very small amount of content! Here’s the meat of the details:
What: Purchase pastries and other baked goodies for an important cause.
When: Saturday, April 17, 12-3 PM
Where: Omnivore Books, located at 3885 Cesar Chavez Street, San Francisco, CA 94131
Why: To help end childhood hunger.
If you can’t attend the bake sale but would still like to donate to the cause, please visit Anita’s team donation page.
If you’re not in the San Francisco area, check Gaby’s site to see if there’s another bake sale happening near you.
Want to assist in the bake sale? Check out Anita’s blog for information on how to contribute time and/or sellable baked goods.
Will I see you there?
