So, macarons are obviously the new cupcake. Americans are obsessed with small, colorful sweets – so I’m thinking that next trend will be petits fours. Until then, though, macarons (not macaroons) are the next big thing. There’s even a Tumblr blog dedicated to them: Macaronage. There’s also a Twitter page.
